Hamilton to be Cairns Convention Centre gm

Former Darwin Convention Centre general manager Janet Hamilton is to manage the Cairns Convention Centre, replacing Ross Steele who has been appointed venue manager of Te Pae Christchurch, which will open in 2020.
Hamilton’s events industry experience includes work at or for the Sydney Olympic Games, Sydney Foreshore Authority, Melbourne Docklands, Volvo Ocean Race for the Singapore and Ireland stopover, National Australia Bank Anniversary Project and External Relations for Rio Tinto.   
 
She  starts in her new role on 18 March.
