Southern buys Mokulele

The USA's Southern Airways has acquired Hawaii's second-largest airline Mokulele Airlines.
The Big Island-based airline serves 11 cities with 787 weekly departures on 15 aircraft. 
 
"This acquisition will give the newly-combined company stability while making Southern Airways a nationally-recognised brand," said Stan Little, the airline's chairman and ceo.
 
Southern Airways will absorb all staff and plans to run Mokulele under its own name.
