Hotel alternative Airbnb is to add transportation options to its existing travel services and has hired airline industry executive Fred Reid as its global head of Transportation.

However, its ceo Brian Chesky says plane ticketing will not be added to its offers, leaving the market wondering if it intends to partner with alternative ground transport providers.  

 

Reid previously worked at the USA's former Virgin America, Delta Air Lines and Germany's Lufthansa.
