The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has released its quick summary of 2018 airline results 'in the cabins'.
Key points are:
• Industry-wide revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs) grew by 6.5 per cent in 2018, slightly less than the eight per cent rate of 2017.
• Capacity grew at a slower pace than traffic in 2018, with passenger load factors increasing to a record 81.9 per cent.
• Although passenger demand has moderated somewhat, 2019 still looks robust in the face of economic uncertainty.
