Turkmenistan Air hires charter operator to run its services

Turkmenistan Airlines, which has been banned by the European Air Safety Agency, has contracted a charter flight company to operate one-stop flights between the UK and India and Asia.
Flights to and from the EU operated by Turkmenistan were suspended last Monday.

The ruling meant services from the UK's Birmingham and Heathrow airports via Asghabat to India, China and Thailand stopped operating, reportedly leaving thousands of passengers stranded.

However, some flights to and from the UK now will be operated by Spanish licensed charter carrier Wamos Air, which runs a fleet of long-haul aircraft including Boeing 747-400s and Airbus A330s.

Passengers are advised to contact Turkmenistan Airlines for further information about their flights.
