Virgin Australia should blame itself for its Hong Kong problems - Joyce

The proposed code share deal between Australia's Qantas and Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific is drawing ongoing fire from rival Virgin Australia (VA).
If approved, Qantas and Cathay will be able to outgun the smaller Virgin in terms of capacity and routes between Australia and Hong Kong.

VA has said the agreement is to the “detriment of the travelling public”, citing both Qantas' and Cathay's greater market power.
Qantas ceo Alan Joyce says VA's weakness on the Hong Kong run is of its own making.

“They’ve always said (China's) HNA was a better partner, so they just have to live with that, as that’s the bed they made for themselves,” Joyce said.
