Thai AirAsia X adds Brisbane run

Low-cost carrier Thai AirAsia X is to fly to Brisbane, Australia from Don Mueang International Airport, Bangkok, Thailand four times a week from June using A330-300s.
The flights will be configured with 12 premium and 365 economy seats.

Thai Airways already serves Brisbane with a four-times weekly service from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport using B787s.

Brisbane Airport said the new Thai AirAsia X service was after support from the Queensland government’s aviation investment fund and Brisbane Marketing.

In other moves, the Malaysia-based AirAsia Group also is planning flights between Perth in Western Australia and a new Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara province (Indonesia) hub.
